Home Depot Pulls Out, But the Rezoning Issue May Not Be Over

Great news—Home Depot has withdrawn from its plans to build in the middle of our residential community. While this is a win, the rezoning issue may still remain on the table, so it’s important we stay vigilant. We’re not against development on Lorraine, but we want thoughtful, small-scale projects like Main Street LWR, not massive big-box stores that bring traffic, pollution, and safety risks.

Residents Rally Against Proposed Home Depot at Lorraine and Rangeland

Residents of Lakewood Ranch gathered for a planned mini demonstration at the intersection of Lorraine and Rangeland, organized by Dan Creek. The event, which also featured an interview with Observer reporter Lesley Dwyer, aimed to raise awareness about the community’s opposition to the proposed Home Depot development.
